Catllar

CATLLAR
Catllar is a small, typical village of Conflent, located at the foot of mount Canigou, at the entrance of the Castellane valley, on the left bank of the Têt river.
Its cultural patrimony includes a church dedicated to St Andrew with an altarpiece (by Jacques PRADINE), where are performed the concerts of Pablo Casals Festival .
Typical narrow streets flanked by ancient houses, some of them still showing a terrace, far distant memory of the silkworm raising. Nature trails in the neighbourhood. Catllar is a valuable place, appreciated by connoisseurs.
In the church, you must see, besides the altarpiece, two splendid paintings by Antoine Guerra.
