You reach Conat leaving the main road at the
Conat is located at the confluence of three torrents and built on a peak of schist. Formerly it was defended by a royal castle of which are left a dungeon (XIth century) and a roman chapel (XIIth century)

In the church, you can look up at a very ancient "capaillette" dedicated to St Anthony. This object belonged to the hermits. They carried it slung over their shoulder and locked ; they walked through the villages. Whenever they met a parishioner, they opened the door and offered the image of the saint to their piety, pretending it was a source of happiness…providing they were generous to the poor hermits !
