The Pablo Casals Festival

Performances :

- The top event is a movie festival that takes place during the second half of July

- A Movie-Club presents, during the months of September to June, 10 films in their original version. Every month during the season, a hundred or so of movies fans meet in the Lido theatre to enjoy a work most likely able to please general audiences. However, those films have been selected by the team, considering the high level of their cinematographic qualities. Each film is sponsored by one member of the team charged to introduce it and to conduct a debate with the audience after the show.

- Once every three months, a thematic evening is organized with participation of local associations.

- Events take place in the school system according to their respective levels of schooling :
Infant and first grade schools : we have initiated since the year 2002 a programme called “Schooll and cinema”
High school : we conduct an operation called “High school and cinema” that concerns five high schools in Conflent and Cerdagne.

- A cinema information centre (open since September 2003) brings together the entire documentation acquired along the years. Its purpose is to give members and public an access to a source of information needed for personal research and/or manifestations.

Ciné-Rencontres is a member of “Carrefour des Festivals” and takes part in the activities of “Cinéma en Languedoc-Roussillon”.
