Conditions for registration at the summer academy in 2008

THE PRADES EUROPEAN MUSIC ACADEMY

is open to high level instrumentalists and chamber music ensembles from all countries. It takes place in Prades from August 1^st to 14^th 2009 during the Pablo Casals Festival.

INSTRUMENTAL MASTER CLASSES

A maximum of six students per master class(teacher approval required). Registration for one class close when the required number of participants has been reached. Students are free to attend all other classes as listeners. An accompanist takes part in every class.

CHAMBER MUSIC COURSES

A. Already formed ensembles

String trio and quartet, piano trio and quartet. wind instrument ensembles

Fee reduction allowed according to the size of the group. (en gras)

B. Ensembles formed at the Academy

Available for all participants without additional fees, depending on the audition and availabilities (instruments, levels)

One group or a soloist might be selected to take part in the Festival’s winter activities

(concerts, chamber music sessions).

AUDITION 1st August (a.m.)

on August, 1^stfor every student in order to know your exact level and form homogeneous chamber music ensembles. Please prepare a concerto or a sonata movement.

Please pay attention to the required level: prix CNR, level of CNSM of Paris or Lyon, higher levels of Hochschulen and other foreign music schools.

LIBRARY

A large chamber music library (trio, quartet, quintet, sextuor…) is at the disposal of students. A deposit of 50 euros will be requested for any loan.

THE ACADEMY’S CONCERTS

The Pablo Casals Academy organizes 9 chamber music concerts on August 10^th, 11^th, 12^th and 13^th at Saint Peter’s, Prades and in some surrounding churches. Students who are preparing international competitions will obviously take part in these concerts.

40 CONCERTS AND CONFERENCES

Free entrance(en gras)to all events insofar as there are available seats and upon presentation of the pass.

A free bus is at the disposal of the students.

CONDITIONS FOR REGISTRATION

1	870 €	COURSES including instrumental and chamber music classes. FULL BOARD at Lycée Charles Renouvier (4 persons bedrooms) MEALS - Self-service at the Lycée Charles Renouvier, from 31 July p.m. to 14 August a.m.
2	730 €	COURSES including instrumental and chamber music classes. MEALS - Self-service at the Lycée Charles Renouvier, from 31 July p.m. to 14 August a.m.
3	460 €	COURSES only

CONDITIONS OF PAYMENT

The application form has to be returned to the Festival Pablo Casals, BP 24,

F - 66502 Prades Cedex, together with a deposit of 460 euros.

By bank or post cheque payable to the Festival Pablo Casals.

By credit card (except American Express). Please do not forget to give the number, the expiry date of your card and cryptogram.

When your application form has been received, the organizers will send you a letter with more information about the courses. If your application should be rejected, we shall refund the deposit.

After definitive acceptance, in case of any cancellation by the student : before July 1^st 150 euros will be retained. After this date, the whole deposit (440 euros) will be retained.

If you are obliged for urgent reasons to withdraw from the course after it has started, you will be liable for accommodation costs to date.
