The quality and wide span of the European tradition, in the realm of chamber music are unique. For centuries, the highest souls of the world have brought their contribution to that noble form of art. Stylistic distinctness has been influenced, not only by the lasting history of chamber music, but also by geographical differences, local traditions and climates. Europe enjoys a privileged position in the world cultural aspect of chamber music.

The ECMA enables young performers (trios with piano and string quartets) to study at the side of great maestros in different parts of Europe. The ECMA sessions not only consist of master classes but offer well balanced programmes. Here are the main points of the curriculum :
• Study of a repertory encompassing from the Vienna School to the XX century
• Study of the world premieres of contemporary works
• Encounters and cooperation with world famous musicians and composers
• Courses of interpretation (practice, historical background, cultural and linguistic aspects, etc.)
• Seminars conducted by selected experts on pivotal topics such as group psychology, group dynamics, marketing, career organization, etc.
• Regional cultural enhancement

Besides those classes, the sessions include several concerts given by students and teachers. By means of lectures and workshops that add to the concerts, the ECMA contributes to enlighten the cultural life of various European regions.
