Festival Pablo Casals

European context of the festival

PROJECTS OF CO-OPERATION

These projects tend to create a cultural dynamic movement based on chamber music. To this effect, common activities aim at :
• Enhance the quality and variety of performers and works presented by the countries involved.
• Support new young talents and increase a new European repertoire of chamber music.
• Make extensive use of new technologies in order to propagate works and teaching methods.

Organizing the mobility :
• Of interpreters and chamber music ensembles.
• Of teachers
• Of national repertories.
Foreign repertories subject to a common inventory and search are requested to constitute a part of national music programmes.

Supporting the growth of young European talents
• European competition of chamber music composers. Within the framework of the Prades Pablo Casals Festival, the ECAM (European Chamber Music Academy) organizes an international competition every other year. The last one was in 2007.
• Commissioning European composers to write new works.
• Training students to major international competitions of interpretation. Sessions are organized at the Prades ECAM, Naantali Academy, Corvey master classes, Karlovy Vary Festival (Mlade Podium) and in Cyprus and Malta.

Using new technologies
The present Pablo Casals Festival website possesses a highly extended level of referencing. It has been remodelled in 2005 and provides a world showcase to the Festival and partners. It is now a symposium of practical information with a home page and reciprocal links. It constitutes a powerful means to promote all kind of activities, to enhance organizations, interpreters, performers, composers and allow an easy access to the archives.
