The Pablo Casals Festival

 

For a few years now, the Pablo Casals Festival has multiplied its concerts in France and abroad (Europe, Asia and South America ). These events has given it the opportunity to tie bonds with different organisms and musicians of all countries, they increase the reputation of the Festival and its Music Academy which generates more applications of foreign students.

 

Thus, year after year the Festival has woven a rather large network of relationships. This enlarges the offer of opportunities and allows the Festival to perform more and more beyond the borders of France thus giving it an international dimension.

 

For instance, the Festival of Prades has been invited :

-                     In 1990 to Tokyo for the third anniversary of the Casals Hall;

-                     In 1993 to New York , where you can see parts of the cloister of the Abbey Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa;

-                     In 1995 to Jerusalem and San Paolo;

-                     In  1996 to Porto Rico;

-                     In 2001 to Finland, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Andorra, Monte Carlo, Barcelona ;

-                     In 2002 to Saint Petersburg …

-                     In 2005 , the Festival has been invited to the 50^th anniversary of the Puerto Rico Festival Pablo Casals as well as in the prestigious Concertbebouw in Amsterdam . That same year, in China, the Festival produced three concerts and master classes at the Beijing and Shangaď conservatories.

-                     In 2006 : Maastricht, Prades’ soloists perform at the Jinju Festival in Korea

-                     In 2007 : Puerto Rico, Festival “Musique aux Iles” in Tahiti, Maastricht and so on.

In France, the most significant example is the collaboration between the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Festival of Prades: as a matter of fact, every year in January, the Festival is offered the opportunity to give a series of concerts in the prestigious Parisian concert hall.

 

In Taďwan, Tokyo, El Vendrell, Sao Paulo, New York (invited by the MET, to give a concert at thr Cloisters Museum where a piece of St Michel de Cuxa cloister is displayed), Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Jerusalem and so on.
